Valencia’s rich culture and history offers many sites and attraction for visitors to the city.
Along with the impressive parks, gardens and bridges, you will find a range of museums, the Valencia Old Town and historical sites.
With exciting attractions spread all over the city, there is something for everyone, including the famous City of Arts and Sciences, the Turia River Bed Gardens traversing the capital, and of course the new Royal Juan Carlos I Marina.

Housed in Marquis de Dos Aguas Palace, the National Museum of Ceramics is home to a great collection of Spanish, local Valencian and foreign ceramics. The collection largely consists of contributions donated by its founder, Manuel Gonzalez Marti, and showcases a comprehensive look at ceramic production and design over the centuries.
If you can't visit Valencia for Las Fallas, then this museum full of the festival's ninots (sculpture caricatures) is a must.
Each year, hundreds of ninots are put on display at a special exhibition and visitors vote for their favourites, which then escape from the traditional burning on 19th March and are added to the museum’s collection.
IVAM is one of the best contemporary art museums in Europe.
Exhibitions focus on modern and contemporary art throughout the twentieth century, featuring those from the crisis of avant-garde through to the 70s.
The Centro Cultural La Beneficiencia is a multi purpose cultural centre, which houses the Prehistory and Ethnology Museums. It is located in the vicinity of the Torres de Quart towers, next to the Botanical Gardens. It is also very close to the IVAM.
Declared a national monument in 1969, visits to The Almudin are primarily motivated by its architectural importance, paintings, murals and popular iconographies from the XVII and XVIII centuries.
Valencia offers a great number of green spaces to compliment its urban cityscape. Don’t forget to visit these wonderful areas for a stroll and to relax.

Designed principally by Santiago Calatrava, the City of Arts and Sciences includes the Prince Felipe Museum of Science, L'Hemisferic 3D cinema, the Oceanografic aquarium, the Opera House Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia, the Umbracle Gardens and the Agora building.
With its impressive avant-garde use of structure and space, Valencia’s City of Arts and Sciences is well worth a visit for many of its attractions, one of which is merely to appreciate its architectural value.

TIP! The Oceanographic aquarium is open at night for those who would like to sleep with sharks or swim with dolphins.
Located at the eastern end of the Turia Riverbed Gardens, The City of Arts and Science is surrounded by attractive walkways and landscaping with water features and lush vegetation. Interwoven ornate roads and shallow lagoons surrounding the buildings, provide great photographic opportunities.
For those wishing to visit the aquarium and museum, we recommend you spend two days, as there is plenty to see.

How to get there:
Bus: lines 19, 35 and 40.
Metro: Lines 3 (red) and 5 (green) to Alameda. Approximately 15 minute walk from the station.
Train: Catch a train to either Cabanyal or North Station (main station). City buses are available from both stations to the City of Arts and Science.
Bus Station: Cross to the other side of the river and take bus number 95.
Car: Underground parking available at the Umbracle.
Valencia is a cosmopolitan city with an array of cultural activities and art exhibitions.
As well as major galleries and museums such as the Valencian Institute of Modern Art (IVAM) and the Museum of Fine Arts, you'll also find exhibitions in various art galleries around the city. While more modest, these exhibitions are equally interesting and worth a visit.
Some of the smaller exhibitions can be found in the city centre in an area forming a triangle between Calle Avellanas, Plaza de la Virgen and Calle del Mar. You’ll also find galleries in the suburb of Ruzafa and Barrio del Carmen.
